With Halloween just around the corner, I've decided it's finally time to shut up about Stardew Valley and break down what I believe, are the most befitting games for the season. Allow me to introduce you to Dead by Daylight and Don't Starve. We'll start with the former first.

Seven years ago, when I was a wee little lad I had decided to sign up for DeviantArt , a website where artists could share and publish their works for all the world to see. Originally I only joined because my friends did, but I quickly grew an addiction to art and began drawing on DeviantArt's default art program. I had fun weaving stories and comics through my lop-sided anime figures, and drew just for the love of it.
Of course, I was 7 meaning my artwork was mediocre at best. But I had fun, which is really all that matters when you're that young. I've pulled a few of my older works from my DeviantArt account (which is still up, by the way, please don't take a look) for comparison: For anyone who's deeply involved in the genre of point-and-click, story-driven games, surely you've heard of Telltale's The Walking Dead game right about now, especially with the abrupt news of Telltale Studios shutting down. Fans of Telltale's content are mourning the closure of the game studio, while others criticize the company's failure being caused by the illusion of choice in their games.
As someone who has been a big fan of Telltale, specifically their The Walking Dead game, since their humble beginnings, life feels like a living nightmare. But I can't imagine what the 250 former employees, who were laid off without severance, must feel. However, I can't bring myself to have any sympathy to the toxic management, or co-founder and former CEO Kevin Bruner who singlehandedly ran the entire company to the ground. If you've been alive since early 2016, you've probably heard of the hit indie farming-simulation game: Stardew Valley! It's a game about farming, fighting monsters, and making friends.
Today, I'm going to talk about the color palette of the game, which is undoubtedly an essential part to Stardew. Stardew is comprised of mainly pixels which piece together detailed yet colorful assets that piece the entire game together. Throughout its development, the developer, ConcernedApe, continuously has refined the artwork into perfection over the years. Take a look at one of the character's, Sebastian, for example: |
